Santiago de Guatemala / Circa 1760-1770

Silver, hammered, shaped, embossed, engraved and cast, partially gilt.

Marks, separated, at the base: Santiago on horseback jumping between two volcanos within a square frame; a royal ‘columnaria’ crown. Zigzag assay gouge

Height: 4 cm. Maximum length: 29 cm. Minimum length: 23 cm.

Silver, cast, chased and turned, with burnished punchwork

Marks on the base: AVILA (uppercase) in a rectangular frame, Santiago on horseback between two volcanos on a grainy background with a quadrangular frame (somewhat unclear) and a ‘de busto’ crown (also imperfectly printed).

Dimensions: Height: 23 cm. Width of the base: 15.5 cm.

Marks on the exterior edge of the base: Guexxa, Santiago on horseback between two volcanos in a square frame with the two top corners beveled and a royal ‘de busto’ crown.

Maximum height: 27 cm. Maximum width: 20 cm. Diameter of the base: 10.5 cm.
